The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court celebrated India's 80th Independence Day on August 15, 2026, with patriotic fervour, with the High Court building and its entire complex illuminated in the tricolour and decorated with flowers.

Senior Judge of the Lucknow Bench, Justice Rajan Roy, hoisted the national flag, following which the National Song Vande Mataram and the National Anthem were sung. A musical performance was also presented by the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) band.

Thereafter, Justice Rajan Roy, accompanied by other Judges, their spouses and retired Judges, paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at his bust on the High Court premises.

The event was attended by the Senior Registrar, officers and employees of the High Court Registry, and several dignitaries, including Additional Advocates General of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Standing Counsels, Government Advocates, Special Counsels, and office-bearers and executive members of the Oudh Bar Association.
