Calcutta High Court will hear #TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee's plea seeking permission to travel abroad for eye treatment tomorrow, in compliance with the Supreme Court's direction to decide the matter within one week.
Appearing for Abhishek Banerjee are Senior Advocate Sabyasachi Banerjee and Advocate Ayan Bhattacharya. The State is represented by Advocate Rajdeep Majumder.
Earlier, the HC had declined to pass any directions in Banerjee’s plea but suggested that a medical board be convened at SSKM hospital to examine whether Banerjee’s treatment could be carried out domestically.
The urgent hearing follows the Supreme Court's order directing the Calcutta High Court to dispose of Banerjee's plea seeking permission to travel overseas for medical treatment within a week.
