[Advertisement] NLU Delhi x Mentblue Launch Certificate Course On TMT, Data Protection & Fintech – Register Now!

The course commences 22 August 2026, with live weekend sessions running through October 2026

India's technology regulatory landscape has shifted faster in the past two years than in the preceding decade. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 is in force; the DPDP Rules, 2025 are published; the Telecommunications Act, 2023 has replaced a framework that stood for decades; the online gaming regulatory architecture is live; and the question of AI governance is moving from policy discussion to enforceable obligation. Clients and regulators expect their legal counsel to advise on these regimes from day one, not to catch up on the job.

Technology, data protection and fintech law barely feature in India's law school curricula in a practice-ready form. Nobody was teaching the practice until now.

To close that gap, National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi), through its Centre for Regulatory Studies (CRS), has partnered with Mentblue to launch a Certificate Course on TMT, Data Protection & Fintech: Technology Contracts, Data Protection & Digital Finance, part of The Practice Series, a joint initiative designed to take participants through the technology, data protection and fintech regulatory landscape the way it is actually practised inside leading law firms and in-house teams. The course commences 22 August 2026. Enrolments are open.

Why This Course?

• Practitioner-led faculty. Partners and senior practitioners from AZB Partners, JSA Advocates & Solicitors, AP & Partners and Trilegal: the lawyers who advise on technology mandates, data protection compliance and fintech regulation for a living.

• End-to-end regulatory view. Across technology contracts, the DPDP Act, telecom and platform regulation, emerging technology, and the full fintech landscape: the complete practice-ready picture taught in the sequence a mandate actually unfolds.

• Two applied assignments. Mid-course and final drafting and advisory assignments built around realistic Indian technology, data protection and fintech fact patterns, spanning multiple regulatory regimes at once.

• Current law. The DPDP Act, 2023, the DPDP Rules, 2025, the Telecommunications Act, 2023, the online gaming framework and emerging AI governance regulation: the course teaches the law as it stands today, not as it was.

• NLU Delhi certification. The course is supervised by the Centre for Regulatory Studies and the certificate is issued by National Law University, Delhi.

• Flexible format. Weekend-only live sessions with six-month recording access, built for law students and working professionals alike.

What Will You Learn?

Module 1: Technology Contracts & Data Protection. Technology contracts and SaaS models; the DPDP Act, 2023 (concepts, consent and notices); and DPDP Act compliance, the DPDP Rules, 2025 and a GDPR comparison.

Module 2: Telecom, Digital Platforms & Online Gaming. Telecom laws and the Telecommunications Act, 2023; e-commerce, intermediary liability and cybersecurity compliance; media and content regulation; online gaming and the 2025 framework; and a mid-course assignment workshop.

Module 3: Emerging Technology: Health, Cloud & AI. Healthtech regulation; cloud computing and data centres; and artificial intelligence: governance, liability and emerging regulation.

Module 4: Fintech. The payments universe; banking regulations and digital lending; SEBI, investments and virtual digital assets; a final assignment workshop; and a career opportunities and roadmap session.

Course Faculty

The faculty includes Rohan Bagai (Partner, AZB Partners), Akshaya Suresh (Partner, JSA Advocates & Solicitors), Abhishek Ray (Partner, JSA Advocates & Solicitors), Arjun Sinha (Partner, AP & Partners), Jyotsna Jayaram (Partner, Trilegal), Kapil Chaudhary (Former TMT Partner, Dentons Link Legal; former GC, InfoEdge, Junglee Games, Twitter, Autodesk, IBM), Jaideep Reddy (Partner, Trilegal), Jishnu Sanyal (Partner, Trilegal), Archana Iyer (Counsel, AZB Partners), Akshaya Parthasarthy (Counsel, Trilegal) and Mriganki Nagpal (Counsel, AP & Partners), among others.

Programme Details

Duration: 16 live online sessions across 4 modules, August to October 2026
