Bombay HC orders CLAT to seek clarification on objections from Expert Committee

Hearing the writ petition filed in the Bombay HC against non-consideration of representation made a CLAT candidate, the High Court on Thursday said, "Importance of additions or deduction of marks cannot be overlooked in any competitive examination." It added, “There are seven such answers which may affect the merit of the petitioner and other students."
The Court accordingly ordered, “at this stage, for passing any furtherorders, it is desirable that the concerned respondents should get theclarification from the Expert Committee referring to the objections soraised by the petitioner, supported by the resources/sources and theremarks on the pages to the petition from 128 to 133(representation/objections dated 10th June, 2015), which are alreadyprovided to respondent No. 1”
As a result, CLAT authorities will now have to seek the opinion of the CLAT Committee on the 7 questions that have been highlighted by the Petitioner, Shubham Gupta.
The matter has now been posted for June 30, 2015.
