The Gujarat High Court Arbitration Centre (GHAC), in collaboration with the Gujarat State Legal Services Authority, is organising a two-day conference on 28th February and 1st March, 2026, on the theme “Institutional Arbitration at a Crossroads: Challenges and the Way Forward”, with a view to promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms.
The Gujarat High Court Arbitration Centre has been functioning since February 2021 and has been actively promoting institutional arbitration in the State. The Centre facilitates institutional arbitration by providing adequate infrastructure and a panel of experienced arbitrators. The arbitration proceedings are governed by the Centre's Rules, ensuring fair, efficient, and time-bound resolution of disputes. The Centre is also coming up with a new state-of-the-art building equipped with advanced infrastructure and modern facilities.
The Conference aims to highlight the advantages of institutional arbitration and enhance its visibility by creating awareness about the institutional arbitration framework among stakeholders, trade and industry users, and legal professionals. The deliberations will also focus on evolving concepts such as Mediation–Arbitration (Med-Arb) and Arbitration–Mediation (Arb-Med).
Advocates, arbitrators from other arbitral institutions, and other stakeholders, including industry users, who wish to participate in the Conference must register themselves. There will be no registration fee. The registration form will be available from 9th February, 2026, on the official websites of the Gujarat High Court, the Gujarat High Court Arbitration Centre, and the Gujarat State Legal Services Authority.
