The Central government on Sunday notified the appointment of Justices Boppana Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Chakravarthi and Tallapragada Mallikarjuna Rao as permanent judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended on February 13 the appointment of these two additional judges as permanent judges of the AP High Court.

A notification issued in this regard by the Ministry of Law and Justice reads thus:

"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri Justices (i) Boppana Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Chakravarthi and (ii) Tallapragada Mallikarjuna Rao, Additional Judges of Andhra Pradesh High Court, to be Judges of that High Court with effect from the date they assume the charge of their respective offices."
