The Central Government has notified appointment of Additional Judges Justice Anil Pansare and Justice Sandipkumar More as Permanent Judges of the Bombay High Court.
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced their appointment on Twitter.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court Collegium comprising CJI DY Chandrachud and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul & Sanjiv Khanna had recommended their names.
The Bombay High Court Collegium unanimously recommended the two Additional Judges for permanent appointment on April 12, 2023. The Chief Ministers and Governors of Maharashtra and Goa also concurred with this recommendation.
According to the Collegium’s Memorandum of Procedure, Supreme Court Judges familiar with the functioning of the Bombay High Court were consulted to assess the suitability of the nominated Judges.
After evaluation of the material on record, the Collegium concluded that both Justice Pansare and Justice More are fit and suitable for appointment as Permanent Judges of the Bombay High Court, against the existing vacancies.
