While quashing an FIR for attempt to commit culpable homicide and criminal intimidation based on settlement, the Delhi High Court has directed the parties to give 100 first aid kits to Delhi Police personnel deputed in five police stations.

Justice Saurabh Banerjee directed the three accused and the complainant to give the first aid kits in Ashok Vihar, Keshav Puram, Bharat Nagar, Adarsh Nagar and Model Town police stations within two weeks.

The court quashed an FIR registered in 2018 under Sections 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Justice Banerjee allowed the plea moved by the three accused persons seeking quashing of the case after they entered into a settlement with the complainant.

The counsel representing the Delhi Police said that he had no objection to the quashing of the FIR. The complainant also submitted that he had voluntarily settled all disputes with the accused.

The complainant also said that he did not wish to pursue the criminal proceedings against the accused and had no objection if the FIR is quashed.

“In view of the fact that the settlement has been arrived at between the parties, and as the respondent no.2 does not wish to continue with the criminal proceedings, in order to bring a quietus to the present disputes…,” the court said.
