The Delhi High Court on Tuesday passed an interim order for take down or removal of images of Senior Advocate Vikas Pahwa being used on social media for defrauding people.
Justice Jyoti Singh restrained various individuals, including john doe (unknown) entities, from using the senior lawyer's images unauthorizedly for monetary gains.
Advocate Peeyoosh Kalra appearing for Pahwa submitted that pictures of the senior lawyer were being infringed as they were posted on social media by various individuals, including on Facebook and Instagram.
He said that the images were being used to defraud people and that few articles were also written in which Pahwa's photos were used.
“Granted,” the Court said while granting interim relief to Pahwa in his suit.
The Court asked Kalra to give a list of the infringing content so that a detailed order can be passed.
The matter will now be heard on March 12.
Pahwa had filed the suit against the unauthorized use of his photographs by known and unknown individuals and entities. He sought take down of the impugned content from the social media platforms.
