The Central government on Friday (September 26) notified the appointment of Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma as the Acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court upon retirement of Chief Justice Kalpathi Rajendran Shriram on September 27.
The notification reads:
"In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, Judge of the Rajasthan High Court, to perform the duties of office of the Chief Justice of that High Court consequent upon retirement of Shri Justice Kalpathi Rajendran Shriram on 27.09.2025"
Born on 27.09.1964 Justice Sharma holds a B.Sc., LL.B degree. He was elevated as a judge on 16.11.2016.
In July this year, the Central government notified Justice Sharma's transfer from the Punjab and Haryana High Court to the Rajasthan High Court which is his parent high court.
The Centre had in April 2023 notified the Justice Sharma's transfer from Patna High Court to Punjab and Haryana High Court.
