Centre Notifies Appointment Of Advocates Anish Dayal & Amit Sharma As Judge/Additional Judge Of Delhi High Court

The Centre has notified the appointment of Advocates Anish Dayal and Amit Sharma as Judge and Additional Judge respectively of the Delhi High Court.
The notifications issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice dated May 31, 2022 read thus:
"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Anish Dayal, to be a Judge of the Delhi High Court, with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office."
"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Amit Sharma, to be an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court, for a period of two years with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office."
Delhi High Court is presently functioning with a working strength of 44 judges as against the sanctioned strength of 60.
The names were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium for elevation as judges of the Delhi High Court in November 2021.
