Centre Notifies Appointment Of 4 Additional Judges To Kerala High Court

The Central government has on Wednesday notified the appointment of four additional judges to the Kerala High Court of Kerala.
They are as listed below:
1) Chandrasekharan Kartha Jayachandran, Judicial Officer
2) Sophy Thomas, Judicial Officer
3) Puthen Veedu Gopala Pillai Ajithkumar, Judicial Officer
4) Chandrasekharan Sudha, Judicial Officer
The Kerala High Court collegium had recommended their elevation in June 2021 and the same was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium in September 2021.
The Kerala High Court currently has 37 judges including Chief Justice S Manikumar.
The notification issued in this regard states:
"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (1) Chandrasekharan Kartha Jayachandran, (2) Smt. Sophy Thomas (3) Puthen Veedu Gopala Pillai Ajithkumarand (4) Smt.Chandrasekharan Sudha, to be Additional Judges of the Kerala High Court, for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective officers."
