Judge of the Kerala High Court, Justice A.K. Jayasankaran Nambiar, was awarded a Doctorate in Law by the O.P. Jindal Global University at a convocation ceremony held in New Delhi on Monday.
Justice Nambiar had enrolled for the doctorate programme during the COVID-19 lockdown period.
The doctorate was awarded to him for his thesis on 'The Judicial Role in Constitutional Protection : Examining the Legitimacy of Basic Structure Review in India'.
Justice Nambiar had enrolled as an Advocate in the year 1990, and was designated as a senior Advocate in July 2011. Subsequently, in January 2014, he was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Kerala High Court, and was made a permanent Judge in the year 2016.
