The National Legal Services Authority has decided to hold four national Lok Adalats in 2019.
They will be held on second saturdays in the months of March, July, September and December. The decision was taken by Justice A K Sikri, judge of the Supreme Court of India, who is the Executive Chairman of NALSA. Justice Sikri took charge as Executive Chairman on NALSA on December 31,2018.
National Lok Adalats are held on PAN India basis, where pre-litigation and pending cases are taken for settlement. In 208, about 47 lakh cases were disposed of in National Lok Adalats, which included about 21 lakh pending cases and 26 lakh pre-litigation cases.
