Pursuant to the quashing of the order extending the tenure of the Vice-Chancellor of Hidayatullah National Law University, Prof. (Dr) Sukhpal Singh, the University, in compliance of the Order by the Chancellor of the University, has notified that Shri Ravishankar Sharma, Principal Secretary, Government of Chhattisgarh, has assumed the role of the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Shri Sharma took over the charge of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor at 1:04 PM today.
Shri Sharma would be discharging his duties as the Vice-Chancellor of the University, in addition to his present responsibilities as the Principal Secretary, Law & Legislative Affairs Department, Government of Chhattisgarh.
The writ petition challenging the extension of tenure of Prof. (Dr) Sukhpal Singh, was filed by Dr. Avinash Samal who is a professor at HNLU Raipur and was formerly also a member of the Executive Council.
